KTM Fencing (“KTM”, “we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). If we are not legally required to comply (for example, if we are a small business under the Privacy Act threshold), we voluntarily elect to follow the APPs.
1. The information we collect
Contact & identity: name, email, phone, address/suburb.
Project details: property photos you upload, measurements, preferences.
Communications: emails, messages, call notes.
Transaction info: quotes, invoices, payment references (no card numbers stored on our servers).
Technical data: IP address, device/browser data, pages viewed; collected via cookies, analytics and similar tech.
2. How we collect it
Forms on our site (contact/quote), phone, email, in‑person visits.
Cookies/analytics pixels (see section 7).
From third parties you authorise (e.g., insurer contact for insurance works).
3. Why we use it
To respond to enquiries, provide quotes, schedule and deliver services.
To operate, secure and improve our website and services.
Direct marketing you can reasonably expect from us (e.g., service updates, tips, promotions). You can opt out anytime (see section 6).
To comply with laws (e.g., tax record‑keeping) and manage disputes.
4. When we disclose it
We don’t sell your data. We may disclose to:

Insurers and loss assessors (when you ask us to assist on claims).
IT/hosting, email, CRM, analytics, and payment providers.

Overseas disclosures: Some providers may store/process data in Australia, the United States, the European Union, or other locations. Where practicable, we choose reputable providers with appropriate safeguards (e.g., contractual clauses or certifications).
5. Storage, security & retention
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures (TLS encryption in transit, access controls, least‑privilege access, system updates) to protect personal information.
We keep quotes, invoices and related records for at least 5 years (to meet Australian tax requirements) and keep other information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or de‑identify it.
6. Your choices (access, correction, marketing)
Access/correction: contact us to access or correct your data. We’ll respond within a reasonable time (usually 30 days).
Marketing opt‑out: every email/SMS includes an opt‑out. You can also email us at kjbonline@gmail.com to stop marketing.
7. Cookies, analytics & ads
We use cookies and similar technologies to run the site and understand usage. This may include Google Analytics, Meta/Google ads pixels, Google reCAPTCHA, and map embeds. You can block cookies in your browser; some features may not work.
If you run ads/remarketing, add: “We may use pseudonymous identifiers for remarketing so that our ads are shown to people who previously visited our site. You can manage ad preferences in your platform settings.”
We display a cookie notice/banner explaining categories and linking to this policy.
8. Notifiable data breaches
Where the Privacy Act requires (for eligible data breaches), we will assess and, if required, notify you and the OAIC.
9. Complaints
If you’re concerned about privacy, contact us first. We’ll respond within 30 days.

10. Changes
We may update this policy; the latest version will be on our website with an updated “Effective date”.
